Shrinking with Leister

Special plastic hoses – known as shrink-on hoses – contract considerably when exposed to heat, thus protecting the products they envelop from mechanical damage or electrically insulating them. The most common way of effecting this process is to use hot air and Leister is the most experienced partner you will find anywhere in the world in this particular field.

A very wide range of different designs and variants of plastic hose come into play here:

• Shrink-on hoses: for the airtight and watertight sheathing of cables and connectors, providing electrical insulation and corrosion protection. Or as a repair measure if cable insulation is damaged
• Shrink-on caps/capsules: used in the brewing and beverage industry for protecting the cork in wine bottles. We recommend solutions from the Process Heat product line for this application area
• Shrink-on coupling sleeves: for connecting specific components, providing mechanical protection and electrical insulation
• Shrink films are used in the packaging industry and for logistics applications, where they protect general cargo from damage and the effects of the weather
• Accumulator cells, which are electrically contacted with one another due to soldered or welded connections, are shrunk into a pack
